Here is one website made by a group of creative people who want to contribute to the culture they're in and do their best while they're at it which, luckily, is more than solely writing.
Always remember that we kicked it off with the internet to show the 0 budget initiative and take the stance for no more excuses.
For our first column we want to dedicate the time to explain why the web space and the NYCTO collective exists and, of course, why we believe you'd love it.
Each ad, each post & each addition to anything we share and do is made by us and - preferably- with 0 budget. Especially when it comes to any of our visual work.
The 0 budget concept inspired the whole idea to be done no matter what. Instead of it being a limiting factor - it was now the primary way to get it all done.
Nycto is a space for stories, a space for music, a space for culture. Those are the keywords that describe us yet it is important to know that here we want to write with the intent of educating as well as entertaining, if not combining the two as much as it is possible.
"obviously it's not your state's official place for electronic music nor is it intended to be. We will create an environment we feel is contributing in the best way, to the artist, the art & the culture.
We want to write about the projects we are loving, the artists behind them. The events we want you to enjoy yourselves. The importance of our lives. Those feelings we love most.
Why?
Because the music made us do it. The nightlife, the people & what we create together.
We are inspired everyday, all because we've discovered the best from all of it. We'd like you to enjoy it, too.
Each column not made in English will be able to be fully read in English via translation within site.
Your new place to hear different and new stories, sometimes from the person perfoming, sometimes from the funny bouncer who we talk about their crazy stories with.
What can we expect from Nycto in general, other than the website?
We'll share music & we will create on Youtube. There you'll find the content from which the Nycto idea started - We originally wanted to share stories from the people within the culture that we've met along the way and ask for their track or more that stuck with them all this time. Visual projects will kick off in early 2023,
You'll hear thoughts about their something that they believe is theirs to say at that moment - because we know that each of us have plenty - and we want to share their favorite tracks with us - or the ones that have that something for them that they cannot forget ever since they heard it.
We will update the playlists with the music from each video across platforms. You will find them in our "playlists" section on Youtube.
Whether it's pure techno, the name so wide in it's meaning & so specific in our minds.
The pumping bass and the structures of psytrance.
The universal drips of acid.
The hypnotic melodies of r'n'b.
The drive of trap.
There's no denying that there's just something about it all.
If you're the type who remembers your first track, you probably remember your first rave. Your first show. Your first time feeling it all mean so much more.
The feeling doesn't really go away when you feel as if your spirit is of the music, resonating with it all and uplifted whenever involved.
It's a specific emotion and it's probably the most enjoying aspect of enjoying youth as well as growing up that you can observe about yourself as the days go by.
It's often compared to other genres in a negative manner with stuff like "bands that play instruments are real. Techno is a machine."
And some get it, some don't. Some will, some won't ever. Our answer is that that can very well be the whole point. The extraterrestrial noises, velocity that's too complex to keep up with on your drumsticks, the inability to make it unless a machine is involved and handling everything is simply like transmitting wider and more unreachable portions of magic. That's what made us listen more and find what's our favorite.
NYCTO is a space for all aspects of art revolved around the culture of electronic music so make sure to subscribe and hit the bell notification to check out the content on the channel as it comes. Surely there will be something there for you.
