Holy shit what a weekend for the MMA fans!
Not solely MMA, though. This weekends sports events truly feel special.
We’ll try to cover your selected main categories of sport: football, basketball, baseball, formula 1, tennis.
This is the first time we’re also covering sports so it feels extra special to have these events covered but for anyone interested to come back to the Disciplin:Ed category later: we will definitely mostly cover mixed martial arts & interesting takes about the athletes in MMA & other disciplines.
What’s your sport of choice?

From championship battles and dramatic comebacks to one of the strangest sporting venues ever seen,
the sporting world spent the weekend determined to remind everyone why nobody should ever leave a game early. Or underestimate proven players.
The biggest event this weekend for us:
The biggest headline came from the world of mixed martial arts where UFC Freedom 250 transformed the White House grounds into a fight arena.
Yes, the White House.
In a scene that looked more like a Hollywood script than a sporting event, thousands gathered as fighters entered beneath patriotic displays and bright lights, creating one of the most surreal backdrops in combat sports history.
The main event delivered the kind of drama promoters dream about.
The kind of event which even had a champion on the black list & then escorted out by security as he snuck in to watch. Beaut to the heart that one. Love you almost always, Sean.
Congratulations to Justin Gaethje,
the heavy punching veteran who has spent years thrilling fans with his fearless style, shocked the combat sports world by defeating Ilia Topuria to claim the lightweight championship considering Topuria was the crowd choice for the victory.
This one is a big win for all the underdogs who shouldn’t even be considered those.
For a fighter often described as chaos personified, it was a fitting victory in an event that felt completely chaotic from start to finish.
Secondly,
the co-main event Alex Pereira & Ciryl Gane was another fun one, considering Pereira was to earn his third belt which would make him the first fighter to achieve this. As much as the crowd loves Poatan and so do we, we have a clean victory by a jab in the second round by Gane. Yikes, at least there weren’t any eye pokes with those back of the head kicks which happened when they shouldn’t have.

Hopefully no eye pokes with the next fight with Aspinall….yikes.
Did anyone notice how despite the cheating we all still like Gane?
All is fair in love and war…or something.
This weekend Pereira has also released his brand of supplements, titled Chama.
Sorry, Poatan, despite this loss you still have a win in all our hearts probably. Who the fuck doesn’t love Alex?
Fans seemed to find a new rage towards Hokit who was victorious over Derrick Lewis, after his somewhat extremely inappropriate behavior during the press conferences before the fight yet as Dana White has said, we’re not loving that but we’re loving the fights. Hopefully the cringe fest ends, though. Painful to hear.
Luckily there’s Trump as a MMA fan without whom this wouldn’t have been done.
As stated previously it’s not a political event, it’s an American event, and apparently the one and only event of such sort and it truly did look magical.
Not only was it looking special, the outcomes of the fights were exilirating.
It ended up seeming logical for Gane & Gaethje but they had us twisting our nerves the whole time.
Thank you to Trump & Dana for making this spectacle for our eyes & hearts.
What about the rest of the sports that took place?
To be honest, considering it’s the first time we’re covering sports & it’s indeed been a special weekend we’ll add some highlights from other sports but as you can probably tell we thoroughly follow only MMA.
Taking that literally, let’s mention the RAF10 event with Khamzat Chimaev & Dillon Danis as the main event.
Is it not a sign for better times to a grappling fan to see Chimaev sign with RAF? He’s shown he’s a high level wrestler in any of his fights so of course even having the idea of watching him fight more than once a year was enough to better the weekend.
Arman Tsarukyan & Tony Ferguson also on the card it was definitely a show of quality for the new event promotion which finally can highlight wrestling more.
As a grappling biased commentator I eat that one up.
Considering Danis’ history it’s always nice to see him appear more human, not just a ragebait humanoid. It’s not about disliking an athlete but in cases like his it’s always good energy to see them shaken by someone else, run away from them while already cheating in the match, for example.
Chimaev has proven once again he’s a naturally gifted human in anything he does.
Football
Football fans were treated to a weekend packed with action. We saw Bosnia in the World Cup for the first time as well which is amazing.
Dani Olmo was among the standout performers, delivering another influential display and showing why he remains one of the most creative attacking midfielders in the game.
Basketball
Basketball fans spent the weekend dissecting every possession and every coaching decision as championship dreams hung in the balance.
Every missed shot became a social media debate. Every timeout became a strategic masterpiece—or a catastrophic mistake, depending on which fan base you asked.
The New York Knicks won the NBA championship over the San Antonio Spurs in five games.
Jalen Brunson completed the Knicks’ first title run in decades.
The Spurs’ young core, led by Victor Wembanyama, fell short but established itself as the league’s next powerhouse.
Tennis
Meanwhile, tennis players traded clay for grass as preparations for Wimbledon accelerated. Players practiced serves, refined footwork, and attempted the annual challenge of looking comfortable on a surface that often appears determined to send them sliding in unexpected directions.
Baseball
Baseball continued its marathon season, producing enough statistics to fill several libraries and enough late-inning drama to keep fans glued to scoreboards across the country.
Shohei Ohtani continued producing highlights that don’t look real.
Aaron Judge remained one of the most feared hitters in baseball.
Teams crossed the point where playoff positioning began to feel meaningful rather than theoretical.
Clearly sports delivered what they were supposed to deliver—surprise, excitement, controversy, and stories that nobody could have predicted.
Let us know if we can fix anything here. It’s been wild covering anything other than combat sports, we only did this for this episode & will continue to include the highlights of the sports, never together unless it’s something special like this particular one where you get the White House, start of World Cup, Chimaevs debut at RAF etc.
