Welcome to the 7th part of Cultur:ed.
This one kind of requires a pen and paper, or pull out the marker & whiteboard because you might just start getting into it for real.
It might not be clear to every creative that there’s a similarity to any type of content people put out.
There’s a framework & using it isn’t as time consuming as it might sound.
There’s no point in using your time to post for no views.
It should be important to start showing yourself and your work appropriately. And perhaps with some paid advertising along the way but we’re not going into that in this one.
We’re focusing on conceptualising the posting framework for you and reffering to what Lana The TikTok coach has shared on her page & hopefully you continue to look & learn about this to eventually get the hang of it & reach your audience.
The TikTok Rule of 1 is a simple framework for creating effective short-form content. It focuses on clarity, audience connection, and purpose. The rule includes four key parts:
One Audience
Identify a specific audience. Speak directly to one group of people instead of trying to reach everyone. This makes your message more focused and relatable.
One Big Idea
Each video should communicate one clear message or concept. Simplicity helps viewers understand and remember what you’re saying.
One Clear Benefit
Show how your content helps the viewer. This could mean teaching something new, inspiring action, or offering entertainment. Always make the value obvious.
One Call to Action
End with a clear next step. Encourage viewers to follow, comment, share, or take another simple action.
The TikTok Rule of 1 reminds creators to focus on what matters most. It’s not about doing more; it’s about reaching the right people with the right message.
Not “how more,” but “who.”
Here are the main types of TikTok hooks (short version):
Shock/Surprise Hook – Start with something unexpected.
“You’re doing this WRONG…”
Curiosity Hook – Make viewers wonder what’s next.
“I tried this for 7 days — here’s what happened…”
“Ever wondered why your videos flop?”
Value Hook – Promise quick benefits.
“Here’s how to grow fast with zero budget.”
Relatable Hook – Speak to shared feelings.
“If you’ve ever felt stuck, watch this.”
Visual Hook – Use striking visuals or actions right away.
(e.g., spill something, change scenes instantly)
Story Hook – Begin mid-story.
“I was about to quit when this happened…”
Trend Hook – Use trending sounds or memes.
Hopefully we’ve given you the simplest & the best visualisation for your career. Check the sidebar for the whole Cultur:ed segment.
